For twenty years prior to establishing Action Plus Bail Bonds, Frank worked in health care administration. He was a hospital administrator and the Vice President of managed facilities for two national companies. His specialty was rescuing troubled facilities helping them get back on their feet.
In April, 1988, after receiving his Bail Bondsman License, Frank and his wife, Mary Jo opened Action Plus Bonds across from the Pinellas County Jail. A location convenient for clients seeking to post bail.
Frank Kopczynski was the host of the Criminal Justice Forum radio show for five years and has worked with people in the criminal justice system for more than 22 years. He has served on former Governor Jeb Bush’s and Charlie Crist’s Ex-offender Task Force and Florida’s Middle District Re-entry Council. He has met with officials in Pasco, Hillsborough, and Charlotte Counties to help establish re-entry programs.
Frank is certified in Mental Health First Aid and has been a guest lecturer at Eckerd College, and various social and civic groups discussing bail and other issues related to the criminal justice system. He has also spoken to local police departments, public defenders, and schools about the bail process.
Frank has been involved in many local committees, including Families Against Mandatory Minimums, National Alliance of the Mentally Ill, The Pinellas Domestic Violence Task Force, Pinellas Ex-offender Re-entry Coalition. He also established Tampa Bay Monitoring. It was the first provider of SCRAMx alcohol monitors in the Tampa Bay Area, the first provider of Soberlink in central Florida and the provider of CheckBAC, the lowest cost alcohol monitors throughout the United States. Tampa Bay Monitoring also provides the most secure GPS units available today.
Frank Kopczynski has a B.S. in Management from Indiana University, Bloomington Indiana, and a Masters in Health Care Administration from Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis campus. Frank is available on a volunteer basis for training & speaking on various topics.
